First Year Students
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) offers a variety of educational support services and opportunities. These include limited financial assistance to ease non-tuition expenses like books and supplies, guidance from academic planning counselors, and access to campus-wide tutoring. It's important to note that EOP is not a financial aid program.

Applicants for EOP consideration must:
- meet specific income guidelines
- be a NYS resident for 12 months prior to enrollment
- require special admissions consideration
First-year student admitted to SUNY Potsdam through EOP are required to attend a mandatory four-week summer program in July prior to the start of the fall semester. Transfer students do not need to attend.

If you were enrolled in EOP, HEOP, College Discovery, SEEK or similar type program at a previous institution, you are eligible for EOP at SUNY Potsdam. The admissions office will verify your status with your prior college.
