The Potsdam General Education Program developed Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) based on competencies, literacies, and experiences that enrich our students’ lives and help them be active lifelong learners and problem solvers. General Education assessment occurs on a 4+1-year cycle (tied to the PSLO assessment cycle). In the first 4 years of the cycle, every General Education course assesses 1 specified SLO each time it’s taught. In the fifth year (+1) of the cycle, General Education leadership assesses the program and makes revisions as necessary to improve student learning.
