Shantelle M Przybylo

Dr. Shantelle Przybylo is a lyric soprano who has been renowned for her "lush and soaring voice" throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Miss Przybylo has completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts, specializing in voice pedagogy at the University of Toronto. Shantelle is a past member of the prestigious Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program at Washington National Opera. At WNO, she sang Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Pamina and Papagena in The Magic Flute, and Giannetta in L'Elisir d'Amore. Noted for her "clear sounding voice and excellent, Mozartian sense of style," Miss Przybylo has performed many of the Mozart title roles, including Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, on tour with Nederlandse Reisopera, and at the acclaimed Het Concertgebouw. Recent roles include, Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos, Mimì in La Bohéme, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. Other roles include, Semiramide in Semiramide, Hanna in The Merry Widow, Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Adalgisa in Norma, Miss Titmouse in Too Many Sopranos, Nataliya in Oksana G, and Edith in The Pirates of Penzance.

Equally well-versed in art song, orchestral, and musical theatre repertoire, Shantelle has performed as a soloist with The National Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Washington National Cathedral Baroque Orchestra, The Apollo Orchestra, Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, Southern Ontario Lyric Opera, and Banff Festival Orchestra. Miss Przybylo has experience teaching students of all ages, and enjoys teaching both classical, and contemporary commercial music. Dr. Przybylo's dissertation research on The Effects of Chemotherapy Treatment for Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer on the Singing Voice was featured at the 53rd Conference of The Voice Foundation Symposium, and will also be presented at the 11th International Congress of Voice Teachers. Shantelle is a Regional finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and winner of the Prix Jeune Espoir Lyrique Canadien in the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques competition.
