Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to share the news that the Middle States Commission on Higher Education has reaffirmed SUNY Potsdam's accreditation, confirming our full compliance with Standards 5 and 6, as well as all Requirements of Affiliation.
This achievement is a testament to our collective efforts and unwavering commitment to academic excellence and institutional integrity. Throughout this process, the entire campus community came together, demonstrating resilience, dedication and a shared sense of purpose. Your hard work and unwavering commitment have made our institution stronger.
I want to extend a special acknowledgment to our two college-wide representative Middle States Working Groups, the Middle States Response Steering Committee, our Accreditation Liaison Officer, and all the departments and divisions across campus that poured their time and energy into this endeavor. In particular, I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Gordon Plague and Matt LeBire, the chairs of the Standards 5 and 6 working groups, who did so much to keep us on track toward this goal. Additionally, I would like to extend my gratitude to those who met with the Peer Review Team and represented our campus with professionalism and distinction this spring. Your contributions were instrumental in achieving this significant milestone.
While we can take great pride in this accomplishment, our work does not end here. Upholding these high standards and remaining in compliance is an ongoing commitment. Middle States has requested a monitoring report, which is due on January 16, 2024, showcasing the sustainability of our implemented corrective measures. Following the submission of the monitoring report, a follow-up team visit may be scheduled. Looking ahead, the next evaluation visit for our campus is slated for 2029-30.
Thank you all for your hard work toward achieving this goal. I hope you have a wonderful summer.
Sincerely,
Suzanne
