Important Update from Human Resources

May 5, 2021

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Please read the following carefully as there will be changes to telecommuting and testing procedures.

COVID-19 Testing
Effective May 24, employee testing will change to every other week.  All employees who are reporting to campus will test on the following dates:

  • May 24
  • June 7
  • June 21

Drop off will be available on Monday only between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Raymond Hall Lobby.  You will continue to receive an email reminder from me with testing details.

For teaching faculty, I will assume you are observing your period of no obligation and therefore not reporting to campus unless you notify me via email otherwise.  If you will continue to report to campus, you must comply with the testing mandate.

As a reminder, the MOU for testing is in effect through June 30.  This is the most up to date information I have and I will continue to communicate any changes upon notice.

Telecommuting
Currently, the state wide telecommuting program is in effect through July 2.  It is unknown if it will be extended at this time.  Regardless, SUNY Potsdam will no longer participate in the telecommuting program effective July 6.  As a result, employees are no longer approved to participate in any telecommuting schedule and are expected to report to campus July 6 unless otherwise noted on their period of no obligation or an approved accommodation.  July 5 is a state designated holiday.  Reasonable accommodations as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act will continue to be reviewed through the Office of Human Resources.  Border restrictions will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Sincerely,

Melissa Proulx
Assistant Vice President for Administration & Human Resources
