SUNY Potsdam maintains a vigorous undergraduate research program in several areas including protein biophysics, nanoscience, cancer research, green chemistry and biosensors.

National Awards
Our faculty have been recognized with national and other prestigious awards such as the American Chemical Society National Award for Research at an Undergraduate Institution, the Henry-Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, The Cottrell Scholar Award and the Distinguished Professorship Award.
Alumni Donations
The Chemistry Department is proud of the generous support from its alumni, including Tony Brennan, who recently contributed approximately $100,000 toward the purchase of a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) system and an atomic force microscope (AFM), and Richard Goodheart, who donated around $20,000 for an atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS).
