Advanced Certificate: Educational Leadership

Make a difference on a whole new level.

SUNY Potsdam's Loading... advanced certificate is designed for experienced teachers holding professional teaching certification who wish to become administrators within a public school setting. This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills essential for success in building or districtwide educational leadership positions—preparing you to positively impact students, staff, families and communities.

Coursework

Coursework for the Advanced Certificate: Educational Leadership program will be offered in collaboration with SUNY Plattsburgh, with several courses offered completely online, with the rest of the coursework completed at SUNY Potsdam through a variety of flexible hybrid learning environments (both on campus and online). Professional internships are incorporated into the program, which can be completed at your home district or elsewhere, depending on your interest and circumstances. The successful completion of this coursework and the School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) New York State School Leadership Assessments will lead you to certification in both SBL/SDL. We will not be able to automatically recommend candidates for the SDL certificate when completing the CAS.  We have to verify that candidates have successfully completed the SDL exam first.
