Diversifying the Violin Curriculum for Private Teaching

Project Overview

The goal of this project is to develop an online resource that helps violin teachers and students sequence music by composers who have been marginalized, such as women and people of color. To do this, the project will research and analyze works by these composers and sort them by the level of difficulty. The project will also write summaries of the technical and musical features of each piece. The list and the summaries will be published online by the project so that anyone can access them and use them to choose repertoire that reflects the diversity of composers and students.
