Minor in Arts Management
The Arts Management Minor provides students with knowledge and skills supportive of career advancement in the arts. In addition to working as an artist, career possibilities include working in galleries, museums, for publishing companies, performing arts companies, film festivals, grant-supported arts councils, philanthropic foundations or the government.
Arts Management students acquire knowledge and skills taught in traditional business programs (e.g. management, marketing, and planning), learn arts-specific management knowledge and skills (e.g. grant-writing and arts-related communication), and study the arts themselves by minoring or majoring in one of the creative arts disciplines offered by the College. In order to complete the Arts Management Minor, students must either (1) major or minor in one of the creative or performing programs at the College or (2) be granted admission to the Minor by virtue of their background in the arts, as determined by the Office of the School of Arts and Sciences.
