General Information
Admission Requirements
- High School Junior or Senior. Sophomores may be considered with letter of recommendation from Guidance Office
- Minimum of 80.0 grade point average in a Regents/College preparatory curriculum as indicated on an official high school transcript
Transferability of Credit
- Due to SUNY's seamless transfer policy, any course taken at SUNY Potsdam is guaranteed to transfer to any other SUNY institution. Acceptance of transfer credit outside of the SUNY system is up to the discretion of the college or university to which you wish to transfer.
Application Process
- If you are interested in the CHS program, please see your school guidance counselor or talk to your teacher.
- All communication will be sent to the email address you provide when you register.
Registration
- Registration for Fall 2024 will be open from September 15 to October 15.
- Registration for Spring 2025 will be open from February 15 to March 15.
Process
- Complete the Student Information Form: This secure form will ask for personal information needed to register and bill students.
This form will ask you to provide your Social Security Number. If you do not provide your SSN you will be asked to complete IRS form W-9S in advance of tax season and transcript requests in the future may require additional verification.
- Complete the Course Registration Form: You will be asked to select which classes you would like to register for.
Course Cost and Billing
(If your school pays SUNY Potsdam directly, disregard this section)
CHS courses are $125 per course. Students who meet the 2024-2025 eligibility guidelines for free or reduced lunch are eligible to take courses at a reduced cost of $75 per course. Eligibility can be indicated on the Course Registration Form.
