Minor in Finance
The Finance minor provides students with an in-depth understanding of the many roles money plays in our lives. This includes concepts such as the impact of using debt when financing an education, a home, a business, or a government; retirement planning; the role of money in economic problems such as unemployment and inflation; the role of financial institutions; and the many career opportunities related to finance. The finance minor could be of interest to math majors interested in applied math; criminal justice majors interested in the area of financial crimes; political science majors interested in the role of money in governments; business majors interested in finance; and anyone interested in money. The electives in the finance minor allow for an accounting focus, an economics focus, or a “pure finance” focus.
