Minor in Forensic Studies
Forensics is a very broad and diverse field of study, involving the application of scientific methodology and knowledge to criminal investigation and legal proceedings. The Forensic Studies minor consists of a variety of courses available on our SUNY Potsdam campus, and draws upon the diverse strengths, talents and experiences of our faculty, to provide core training in forensic methodology and student exploration of the many aspects of forensic work. Students will take core courses in anthropology, chemistry and sociology/criminal justice and can explore their interests in forensic studies by choosing electives from a wide array of courses in the aforementioned disciplines, or in other academic disciplines, including accounting, biology, computer science, geology, Geographic Information Systems, math, philosophy, political science and psychology.
