B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies
The B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies exists to meet the needs of undergraduate students whose intellectual curiosity and career aspirations will not be best served simply by completing existing major and minor offerings. The program provides enhanced curricular flexibility and enables students to creatively examine their academic interests from a wider yet focused perspective - across disciplines - and without being constrained by requirements inappropriate to their needs.
Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- satisfactorily achieve the learning outcomes in the main upper level course of the two main disciplines composing his/her interdisciplinary major.
- use and apply conceptual frameworks from the different disciplines.
- synthesize the different disciplines in the major.
Career Outlook
Occupations in fields related to interdisciplinary Studies are very broad, with some projected to grow by 6 to 13 percent over the next 10 years.
