Minor in Therapeutic Recreation
The Therapeutic Recreation Minor prepares students to assist special populations (those with physical, emotional or intellectual challenges) to engage in recreation activities. Activities such as hiking, camping and other outdoor activities as well as climbing and other challenge activities are a means for special populations to use their leisure time in engaging, healthy and meaningful ways. In addition, students enrolled in the minor will apply what they have learned via a 2-credit internship at a Community Health agency. During the internship, students will implement a therapeutic recreation-related project.
