The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III), created under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP), authorizes SUNY Potsdam to award emergency grants to eligible students that can be used for any component of a student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care.
SUNY Potsdam was allocated $6,333,706 in federal funds under HEERF III or ARP for the exclusive purpose of providing financial aid grants to students, and colleges must continue “to prioritize students with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell Grants or are undergraduates with extraordinary financial circumstances.”American Rescue Plan Special Circumstances Guidance
