There will be an upcoming Forum to discuss potential changes to our campus’ academic calendar. SUNY Potsdam’s Calendar Committee, which includes faculty and staff from across the campus, formed asubcommittee which has been meeting since Fall 2018 to explore changes to the traditional academic calendar template. The rationale for the recommended changes includes enhancing course availability and delivery methods to support the campus’ goals centered around student success.
This subcommittee has considered several options including shortening the winter break by two weeks (resulting in an earlier start to the spring semester), no longer offering a Winterim session, and adding a two to three week May session (often called “MayMester”).
Be mindful that any changes will impact many areas across campus, President’s Council has asked the members of the subcommittee to host a campus forum to outline the proposed changes and answer any questions. The Forum will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 4 - 5:30 p.m. in Kellas Hall 106.
