The Center for Applied Learning is accepting on-line applications for an Applied Learning Counselor to focus on assisting students with career, major, and applied learning exploration, and in supporting students in creating a successful job- and education-search package of resume, cover letters, interview and soft skills, online self-marketing, and other useful deliverables for the modern economy.
The Applied Learning Counselor serves on the career services staff as a part of the Lougheed Center for Applied Learning. Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Career Services, you will perform work similar to a Career Planning and Development Associate while becoming familiar with the campus’ placement procedures: serves on the career planning and development staff, meet with students regarding major or career exploration, including introductory meetings on experiential and international education; meet with students and alumni to assist in their preparations for professional employment and/or continuing education; meet with classes and conduct workshops on career development topics; obtain and maintain information on career requirements and opportunities to inform their own knowledge and update campus resources; and assist with data-gathering for the campus’ First Destination Survey each year.
