The College is seeking a creative and social media savvy self-starter for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics Communications/Assistant to the Director of Athletics to begin approximately August 19, 2019. The selected candidate will play a lead role in all facets of the department’s athletics communication needs: writing news releases and media relations, managing the athletics website (potsdambears.com), game management including stat collection, creating printed materials, expanding our video and social media presence, etc.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Athletics Communications and work closely with the Director of Athletics, providing administrative support to the athletics department and will be directly involved with each of the College’s 19 varsity sports. Evening and weekend work is required. The annual salary for this full-time, temporary appointment is $35,803 and includes a two month period of no obligation determined by your direct supervisor.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; experience in an athletics department, proficiency with social media platforms, strong verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent writing and computer skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Special Note: The hired applicant must be available to travel to Indianapolis July 25-26, 2019 for mandatory training.
