The School of Arts & Sciences is accepting on-line applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies to begin fall 2019 and bring an interdisciplinary perspective, a commitment to place-based learning, and a willingness to develop and integrate students into regional research and teaching opportunities. Full time teaching load is 24 hours per academic year, plus student advising, committee/service responsibilities, and scholarship appropriate to rank.
The position requires teaching core program requirements and supervision of students placed in field research and internships (including some summers with additional compensation available) in rotation with other core program faculty as well as teaching electives in support of our program curriculum. The position may include teaching evening, weekend, off-site, and/or online courses. A Ph.D. in Environmental Studies or a related discipline is required by August 1, 2019. Demonstrated interdisciplinary breadth drawing on multiple perspectives is essential.
