The Crane School of Music invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Music Education to begin August of 2020. As part of a dynamic and innovative music education faculty, the appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music education appropriate the applicant’s credentials and experience, including general music, culturally responsive teaching, working with diverse learners, field experience/practica, music education principles, and/or specialized electives in areas appropriate to upper-level music education and/or graduate music education offerings.
ABD candidates will be considered, but a completed doctorate is required for tenure; if appointed to this position prior to completion of a doctoral degree, candidates will be hired at the Instructor rank and moved to Assistant Professor on completion of the degree. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in public school teaching and/or higher education, preferably both.
