The College is accepting on-line applications for a College Account (Business Manager) who will report to the Vice President for College Advancement and is an advisor to the vice president and part of the Advancement leadership team.
The position has primary management and oversight responsibility for all aspects of accounting for the Potsdam College Foundation, including financial reporting, budget planning and monitoring, investment, and endowed fund management. This position requires active daily involvement in accounting activities and endowment/investment management, as well as close work with financial advisors and the Audit and Investment/Finance Committees of the Foundation. This position interacts daily with the Advancement leadership team, Advancement colleagues, and College staff and faculty. This person must be team-oriented and personable, a strong strategist, and able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
A Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years successful experience in complex finance and/or accounting management is required; a Master’s Degree (MBA or Accounting) with professional certification (CPA) is preferred. The successful candidate must have a knowledge of IRS and State of NY rules and regulations regarding charitable giving and extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); experience in a non-profit and/or higher education environment and knowledge of fund accounting is highly desirable. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems required, experience with Banner Finance desirable. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and certification.
