The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence acknowledges students’ outstanding achievements. We seek nominations of students who have best demonstrated the integration of SUNY excellence within many aspects of their lives. The achievements and accomplishments listed in their nomination should reflect why they are one of the top outstanding students SUNY-wide.
These students may have already received recognition from local, state, national or international organizations, and we would like you to include that information in the nomination process. Examples of achievements and accomplishments to consider may include, but are not limited to, athletics, advocacy, military service, student government, teaching and service positions, involvement in clubs and organizations, volunteer work, and research experience.
Eligibility:
Students must graduate between June 2023 and May 2024. Achievements and accomplishments must have been attained while enrolled at SUNY Potsdam.
Nominees must have achieved excellence in three of the following areas: Academics, Leadership, Campus Involvement, Community Service, or The Arts (creative or performing).
Nomination Process:
Complete the online form. Nominations will only be accepted via the online form. Upload the nominee’s resume during the nomination process. Provide the name(s) of one or two individuals willing to submit supporting recommendations on the student’s behalf. At least one recommendation is required.
Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, Jan. 19, 2024.
Recommendation Process:
Complete the online form. Recommendations will only be accepted via the
online form. Supporting recommendations must be submitted no later than Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
Incomplete nominations or late materials cannot be considered. Nominations cannot be considered without a supporting recommendation. Nominations cannot be considered without a resume. Students will be reviewed related to campus conduct. While there is not a minimum GPA requirement, SUNY expects nominees to have demonstrated exceptional academic performance.
