Days of Reflection Upcoming Zoom Sessions

October 7, 2020

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in The Days of Reflection: Education for Racial Equity and Justice. The program will run on Zoom from Monday, Oct. 19 through Thursday, Oct. 22.  The detailed schedule is available on the Days of Reflection webpage. Sessions will start at 3 p.m. daily.

The planning committee is excited to offer a variety of sessions on important topics, including immigration, women’s suffrage, climate change, dialogue as a methodology in anti-racism, voting, and “Black Rights, Indigenous Rights, Human Rights.” They are grateful to the many faculty and staff who will present sessions and to students who brought us important ideas for sessions.

One of the guest speakers is Dr. Lorenzo Boyd, a national expert in diversity in law enforcement and de-escalation theory. He will present on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m., on “Policing post-George Floyd: How did we get here, and where next?” with a focus on the necessity of protests for positive social change.
