Provost Bette Bergeron is pleased to invite applications for the position of Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). Responsible for the overall management of, supervision, and planning activities that promote the acquisition and administration of extramural grant/contract funds from federal, state, private and other sources, and stimulate the overall environment for faculty scholarship and professional development at SUNY Potsdam. Supervise the ORSP staff and maintain all budgets related to the office’s primary functions.
The Director reports to the Provost and serves as a member of the Provost’s extended cabinet. Effective start date is negotiable. The Director will have a maximum of eight credit hours per semester release from current responsibilities and will be expected to work the equivalent of a minimum of three credit hours over the summer. Stipends for work conducted, including summer responsibilities, are negotiable.
Required qualifications: Must be a current, full-time tenured instructional faculty member at SUNY Potsdam. Significant experience with research and scholarly activities, experience supervising staff, and managing budgets from multiple sources required. Direct experience with the SUNY Research Foundation, successful funding through external sources, and completion of relevant CITI training modules within the last year desirable.
