Director of the Office of Student Research & Creativity Vacancy

Provost Bette Bergeron is pleased to invite applications for the position of the Director of the Office of Student Research & Creativity (OSRC). The OSRC houses the programs for Presidential Scholars, Honors, Kilmer/Student Research, the Institute for Ethical Research, and Student Fellowships. The OSRC serves a key role in advancing the College’s strategic plan by providing opportunities for transformational experiences in research and creativity. We are especially seeking candidates who have worked with, done research with, or taught under-represented groups. The Director reports jointly to the Assistant Provost and Director of the Lougheed Center for Applied Learning (LoCAL). The Director works in partnership with a variety of campus offices and serves a key leadership role in the LoCAL. During the fall and spring semesters, the Director is expected to spend half-time (20 hours/week) in administrative and other tasks on site in the OSRC office.

Salary and release time, three-quarter time (three-course release in fall and in spring), stipend to consist of $1500 in fall 2018, $1500 in spring 2019, and a combined total of $2000 in the summer months for orientation, student mentoring, and administration ($1,000 for July/August 2018 and $1,000 for May/June 2019). Required Qualifications: Full-time instructional faculty member, commitment to encouraging and mentoring student research and creativity, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated history of working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students of diverse roles and backgrounds.  We are seeking candidates who possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment in and out of the classroom. We are, especially, seeking candidates who have worked with, done research with, or taught under-represented groups and have worked collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups.
