SUNY Potsdam has partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). The program provides free boxes of dairy, produce, and pre-cooked meals to anyone, regardless of their income. The College is partnering with the USDA to be able to provide the meal boxes for any member of our SUNY Potsdam family including students, faculty, staff, and auxiliary staff regardless of their current employment status.
Each household will be able to pick up a total of 30 lbs. of assorted food items. This opportunity is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will continue until the program is discontinued. In order to ensure a safe pick-up process for all, we have put into place procedures that must be followed.
The first pick-up opportunity will be on Thursday, June 4 beginning at 10 a.m., and will continue until all food is distributed. For any future distribution dates, an email notification will be sent 24 hours in advance.
Vehicles need to pull down Barrington Drive and take a right onto Watertown Drive. Volunteers will be directing vehicles to the pick-up location. All individuals must remain in their vehicles throughout the duration of the process and be wearing a mask. Volunteers who will be wearing gloves and masks and will load food into vehicles.
A sign will be posted when the day’s distribution has concluded, or you can call 315-267-2128 to check on the availability on the day of distribution.
