CTS has completed the implementation of the AVST new voice mail system for the campus. Please read important information below:
Messages on the current system will not be transferred to the new system. Please see this page for instructions on how to access the old system and download any saved messages you have there. The old system will be decommissioned and taken offline on July 1, 2018.
When you first login to the new system you will need to initialize your mailbox. The default pass-code for your Voice Mail Box (VMB) on the new system is “123456”.
The system will guide you through the set-up process, which will include:
-
Setting your unique passcode
-
Recording your spoken name
-
Recording your personal greeting
The new quick reference guide, AVST Voice Mail Users Guide , is now available for download from at http://www.potsdam.edu/cts/telcom/voicemailinformation.
NOTE: If you would like to receive email notification of new voice messages, please send an email indicating that to telcom@potsdam.edu. Be sure to include your phone number and the email address you want to receive the notifications on. Also, you have the option to have the voice message attached to the email as a .wav file, or not, which will simply be a notification that you have a new message. You will have to access your VMB via phone to manage your messages, such as saving, deleting or forwarding.
If you have questions or concerns about this upgrade or have trouble accessing or downloading your saved messages on the old voice mail system, please contact the CTS Telcom office by email: telcom@potsdam.edu.
