The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department will be hosts on our campus providing the faculty, staff, students and community with both the JYNNEOS Monkeypox vaccine and the NEW Bivalent COVID-19 booster, on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Knowles Multi-Purpose Room, located at the corner of Barrington and Ogdensburg Drive, parking available in lot 9.
Please note that while both vaccines will be available at the clinic, it is not recommended for you to get both the COVID-19 and JYNNEOSvaccine on the same day or within four weeks of each other, in most cases, due to the risk of myocarditis. However, having received a recent influenza vaccine is not a risk factor.
If you attended the first Monkeypox clinic, you are pre-registered for your second dose. For those who are eligible (eligibility has expanded) and would like their first dose, please pre-register here for your first JYNNEOS vaccine.
The new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine specifically protects against the original COVID-19 virus and Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 viruses, which are the predominant infections in our community now. We can expect that COVID-19 infections will increase this fall and winter season. In fact, the cases are currently doubling in some European countries now. Typically, U.S. cases follow the European trends. If you have not received a COVID-19 booster in the past two months, please pre-register here.
