Residence Hall Director Vacancy

The Residence Life Office is accepting on-line applications for a full-time, 10-month, live-in Residence Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct responsibility for a residential area housing approximately 200-500 residents, supervising a student staff of 9-15, may supervisor a live-in graduate assistant, student conduct, facility maintenance, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, emergency response, administrative and operational functions, programming and community building, committee work, and participation in departmental planning and decision making. Potential opportunities for significant involvement in the Department’s staff selection, training and development, and programming depend on interest and experience. Evening and weekend work is expected related to department processes and emergency/crisis response. 

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and some experience in a student leadership role. A Master’s degree is preferred and previous residence life experience is strongly preferred. Other essential qualities include excellent administrative, communication, leadership, decision-making skills and the ability to work autonomously in a team atmosphere.

In addition, this position will be expected to possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.This position includes a competitive salary as well as an on campus furnished apartment and college meal plan.
