The schedule and detailed session descriptions are now available for the Days of Reflection: Education for Racial Equity and Justice, to be held Feb. 27 - March 2. Eight sessions will be presented by twelve members of the faculty and staff, as well as a special guest scholar. Please encourage students to attend, and plan to attend yourselves. (These are educational events for members of the SUNY Potsdam community.)
On the schedule, each session is labeled to indicate its level of challenge -- (1) first steps, (2) deepening our understanding, and (3) challenging ourselves. Each session is also identified as presentation, workshop, or film screening. Please encourage students to take this information into account when choosing sessions to attend. Participants will also be informed about other events addressing DEI which are planned for the remainder of the semester.
We are pleased to welcome a guest scholar, Dr. Stephanie Rivera Berruz, a philosopher and a 2018 Woodrow Wilson Fellow. In two sessions, she will speak with participants about Puerto Rico, its political status and history, and the resilience of its people within their struggles. The Days of Reflection and Dr. Rivera Berruz's visit are sponsored by the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
