Student Success Center Assistant Director Vacancy

The Student Success Center is accepting on-line applications for a full-time Assistant Director to support students in their transition to graduation from college through advising, outreach, and academic skills development.

This position will coordinate student support services for students with disabilities and also be responsible for: a)  Ensuring that students with disabilities (SWD) who request accommodations receive relevant accommodative plans and appropriate accommodative service provisions. Services are based on review of documentation and student interviews. b) Act as a liaison for SWD with faculty and campus offices/resources in all phases of students’ college careers. c) Provide outreach services to the campus and expand the community’s knowledge of the concerns of SWD; produce workshops/training/ materials to help educate faculty and staff about the needs of SWD and the services the SSC provides. d) Participate as a member of a collaborative team to promote the effective operation of the SSC. e) Work to achieve College-wide goals in support of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan.  f)  Compile information and complete relevant reports related to office activities. g) Hire and supervise student staff. 

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field. Working knowledge of ADAAA, IDEA, Sections 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and disability issues. Experience in disability services in a higher education setting. We are seeking candidates who possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment in and out of the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with budget management, presentation, and advising diverse populations of undergraduate students; experience with Banner 9, DegreeWorks, and EAB Navigate software platforms. Experience interpreting and evaluating disability documentation. Spanish language skills.
