The Loading... program is 100% online and is recognized and accredited nationally by CAEP, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (formerly NCATE, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education). Canadian students who complete this program and all New York State teacher certification requirements are eligible to apply to the Ontario College of Teachers for Ontario certification at the primary / junior divisions. This program is intended for candidates who do not hold a teaching certificate and seek to earn certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6).
What You Will Learn:
- The skills, pedagogical knowledge, and disposition necessary to become a successful classroom teacher in grades 1–6.

- Deep understanding of the methods for teaching literacy, math, science and social studies, providing the foundation to create and teach effective curriculum.

The Fieldwork Experience:
- Completion of 100 hours of fieldwork in a local school prior to student teaching, gaining hands-on understanding of educational environments and innovative strategies used in today's classrooms.
- One semester of student teaching, including two 8-week placements in grades 1-3 and 4-6.
- A close relationship with your field supervisor, who is committed to offering the support and insight you need to reach your highest potential as an educator.
