Timely Book and Supply Allowance
Federal regulations require that colleges provide a way for a Federal Pell Grant eligible student to obtain or purchase required books and supplies by the seventh day of a payment period. The student must have completed all necessary steps to allow all aid to disburse before the beginning of the semester/term and have a credit balance. A student has a credit balance if the total amount of credits from Federal funds is more than the total charges on the student?s bill. Charges may include the amount of tuition and fees, room and board, and other student-authorized expenses. The student can use SUNY Potsdam?s BearExpress Account to use Federal funds to purchase books and supplies.
Written Arrangements Disclosures
The federal government, as part of the Title IV student financial aid program, requires disclosure of written arrangements whereby third parties provide portions of SUNY Potsdam academic programs.
SUNY Potsdam does not have any academic programs for which a mandatory portion of the program, including credits and grades, is provided by a third party. On the other hand, SUNY Potsdam engages with a variety of institutions to provide unique educational opportunities for students, such as through Study Abroad programs, National Student Exchange program or Consortium Agreements. Participation in these opportunities is optional at the student?s discretion. Costs may vary and are determined by the individual institution.
