Additional Possible Events

What would you like to see happen? The Bicentennial Steering Committee and many engaged faculty, staff and friends of the College have already brainstormed possible events to celebrate our history. These ideas simply need a champion to propose them ? or perhaps they can be the inspiration for another worthy proposal!

Transfer Students

What You Need To KnowStudents who transfer to our college at the beginning of their junior year and who have completed (with good quality work) courses equivalent to MATH 151, 152 and 253 Calculus I, II and Multivariate Calculus should have no difficulty in completing a mathematics major in four semesters.

Q&A: What do you remember about studying computer science at SUNY Potsdam?

Chords of Success

Wheeling a large Lyon & Healy harp through the halls of SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, Shannon Boyle ’20 & ’22 wove through the connected buildings with ease like a slalom skier maneuvering around a series of gates on a familiar course.

From Zeppelin to Mozart

When he was 12 years old, Alex Mariano ’21 picked up a guitar for the first time from his father’s ever-expanding electric guitar collection. He strummed a few chords, not realizing at the time that he would one day be playing classical guitar on stage at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music.

‘The Gold Standard’

When Abbigail Crahan ’24 walks across the Commencement stage in May, any concerns about her future will be overshadowed by years of preparation at SUNY Potsdam. The culmination of her hard work will take shape this summer and fall when she completes two final capstone internship experiences that will pave the way for a rewarding career.

Taking the Lead

When Adam Smith ’15 entered SUNY Potsdam his freshman year, he never imagined that he would be backpacking throughout the Adirondacks or scaling walls of ice and rock. He did all of that and more through the wilderness education program. The leadership skills he learned set the stage for a successful career in outdoor education. Now he’s come full circle, back at SUNY Potsdam as an instructor in the same program where he was once a student.

From Hobby to Hollywood

When Brett Bull ’17 arrived at SUNY Potsdam as a psychology major, and began working on a self-proclaimed “low-key” musical project on the side, he never expected it to turn into a future music career. Bull’s musical side quest evolved into something bigger when he passed off a CD of his original songs to a friend at a party. And now he has an original song featured in Sean Baker’s upcoming Hollywood film, “Anora.”
