Minor: Computer Science
The Computer Science minor is appropriate if you wish to combine coursework in computer science with a major in a closely related area.
B.A./B.S.: Computer Science
We offer two Computer Science bachelor degree options (B.A. or B.S.) and a minor.
B.F.A.: Creative Writing
The B.F.A. in Creative Writing is a pre-professional degree that offers students intensive training in the writing of fiction, poetry, drama, creative nonfiction, and screenplays.
Minor: Criminal Justice Studies
The Criminal Justice Studies minor enhances potential and background for career-entry employment in one of the subsystems of the criminal justice system, e.g., adult or juvenile corrections, law enforcement and security.
B.A.: Criminal Justice Studies
Criminal Justice Studies is the study of the criminal justice system: the perpetrators, agencies and actors involved in the processing and definition of crime, and the social, political and economic phenomena impacting each.
MSED: Curriculum and Instruction
This program is designed to meet the needs and interests of all education professionals. This includes those seeking professional NYS certification, as well as those interested in curriculum design and pedagogy, applied in non-classroom contexts.
Minor: Design and Production
The Design and Production Minor has two tracks, for Non-Theatre Majors and for Theatre Majors.
Minor: Design and Technical Theatre
The Design and Technical Theatre Minor consists of a concentration of courses in the craft, theory, and art of design and technical theatre.
Minor: Education Studies
The Education Studies Minor will provide a foundation and range of academic core courses and elective experiences in the field of education, open to all SUNY Potsdam undergraduate students.
Advanced Certificate: Educational Leadership
The Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership is designed for experienced teachers holding professional teaching certification who wish to become administrators within a public school setting. The program is a partnership between SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Plattsburgh.
MSED: Educational Technology Specialist
This fully online program prepares students to be technology leaders in our K-12 schools. For students holding a current NYS certification, this program leads to an initial Educational Technology Specialist NYS certification.
B.A.: English: Creative Writing
The English: Creative Writing Major hones students’ abilities to write and think imaginatively and critically.
B.A.: English: Literature/Writing
Students pursuing the English: Literature/Writing Major take courses focused on literature, rhetoric, creativity, and professional practice while introducing students to common forms in a variety of contexts.
Minor: Environmental Science
The Environmental Science Minor is designed primarily for natural science majors who are interested in the environmental field.
B.S.: Environmental Science
Through an interdisciplinary approach, the Environmental Science Major provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to understand the complex interactions between the biological, chemical, and physical aspects of the natural.
