SUNY Potsdam’s PLACE (Public Learning, Arts and Community Engagement) invites campus and community members to build the skills and confidence to explore the Adirondacks through a new non-credit course designed specifically for beginning hikers. Learn more about the Introduction to Hiking Event.

Dates: Monday, Sept. 28 and Monday, Oct. 5, 2026 (2 Sessions)
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: SUNY Potsdam, Performing Arts Center Seminar Room
Guided Hike: Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Hike Location: Goodman Mountain, Tupper Lake, N.Y. Participants will meet at the Goodman Mountain trailhead.
Cost: $100, includes two sessions of classroom instruction and the guided Goodman Mountain hike
