SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music Hosts Recent Graduates for Guitar Alumni Recital Honoring Dr. Doug Rubio on April 27

SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will welcome back five recent graduates for a special guitar alumni recital on Saturday, April 27 at 3 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The event will honor Professor of Classical Guitar Dr. Douglas Rubio upon his retirement. Five alumni who all went on to complete doctorates in the field will perform together in the special concert, including Brian Dooley ’17, Brendon Grabowski ’16, Andrew Marino ’12, Lynn McGrath ’00 and Tom Torrisi ’09.

Fellow Crane alumnus and luthier Chad Gillander ’04, who is fast becoming known as a maker of fine steel-string acoustic guitars, will also attend. Dooley will perform on one of Gillander’s handmade instruments.

This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

This performance will be broadcast live on the Crane School of Music YouTube channel at the concert time. To view the program and see other upcoming streaming performances, visit www.potsdam.edu/cranelive.
