Applications for the Fall cohort semester will open January 2 of each year with a deadline of the last day of April for college students.

Note: Those who are NOT enrolled in a college course degree program and who want to apply to attend this training as a "stand-alone" program will have a deadline of August 20 of each year. In other words, applications will be accepted from January 2 - August 20 of each year for Non-Matriculated applicants.

Instructions

  1. Print the application (see link below). Answer all questions fully and truthfully. A false statement made on this application may result in academy dismissal and/or criminal charges.

  2. Attach copies of:
    • The front and back of your driver’s license.
    • College Course Summary (transcript) from your Bear PAWS Account.
    • Or, for non SUNY Potsdam students, a transcript from your college.
      • College is not a mandatory pre-requisite to apply.

  3. Print off the HEALTH CERTIFICATE in this packet, have it signed by your Dr., PA (Physician’s Assistant), or NP (Nurse Practitioner), then attach it to your application.

NOTE: Because it does take time to get a medical appointment, applicants may submit their application without this. However, once approved into the academy, this Health Form must be submitted before academy start, or it is an automatic and immediate dismissal. No exceptions.

  4. Once all the above is complete, reach out to Director Duquette at duquetar@potsdam.edu to schedule your hour-long interview in which the Director will go over your application with you and determine immediate academy admittance.

Questions, issues, or concerns should be sent to Director Duquette’s email at duquetar@potsdam.edu or cadets may call Director Duquette directly at (315) 261-8223.
