Educational Leadership

Advanced Certificate: Educational Leadership

The Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership is designed for experienced teachers holding professional teaching certification who wish to become administrators within a public school setting. The program is a partnership between SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Plattsburgh, providing the opportunity to earn an online advanced certification from SUNY Plattsburgh in Teacher Leadership. Completion of all program requirements lead to SUNY Potsdam recommendation for NYS school building leader and school district leader certification.

You’ll be eligible for promotion to leadership within your school district or another—you’ll be prepared to guide meaningful engagement that builds connections, fuels productivity and generates positive change. You will develop a strong professional network of fellow educators and faculty mentors who will help you move your career forward and find your footing as a leader. Graduates of this program are eligible for New York State School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) certification.
