Application Process
Though applications are accepted on a rolling basis up until the start of the fall semester, for full consideration for all campus-based financial aid monies it is best to apply prior to April 1.
- Apply to the campus using either the SUNY Application or the Common Application
- Submit at least two (2) letters of recommendation
- one from the high school principal or school counselor
- one from a teacher of an academic subject
- Submit Completion Plan (PDF) to the Office of Early College Programs
- Complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) which is required by the campus in order to be eligible for any campus aid.
Once accepted, the high school principal or school counselor must pre-approve any course work taken at SUNY Potsdam. The Office of Admissions will work with you and your school counselor to determine coursework needed to fulfill graduation requirements.
While the Office of Admission is here to help, it is the responsibility of the student and appropriate school official to ensure that high school graduation, acceptable/passing grade requirements, and requirements of the school district are being met through specifically designated SUNY Potsdam coursework.
