How will becoming an RA affect my Financial Aid package?
If you become an RA, your semester bill will be less. You will be borrowing less loan money, and that will mean you will have less to pay back!
- RA's get the equivalent of a FREE room each semester
- RA's also get a "Residence Assistant Credit" on their bill each semester
Remember:
- It will never affect your PELL or TAP
- Total financial aid eligibility will stay the same
- It means taking out fewer loans
- If you take over for someone who has resigned as a RA part way through a semester, your room & RA credit would be prorated based on the week of school you became an RA
- RA aid packages may be adjusted by reducing PLUS (if possible), Unsubsidized, Subsidized, Perkins, Federal Work-Study, SEOG and EOP.
