Ceremony Participation

Commencement is the highlight of the academic year and is a meaningful occasion for our graduates and their families. It is also one of the largest events held at SUNY Potsdam, and its success requires the help of our entire SUNY Potsdam campus community, alumni and friends.

This is also a great opportunity for our alumni to join us to officially welcome students to the rank of SUNY Potsdam alumni. If you haven't volunteered and/or processed before, please consider doing so this year. A large number of volunteers are needed to make the ceremonies go smoothly and your help is genuinely appreciated. Complete the form below to volunteer, process or both.

We have many roles for volunteers such as greeting families, distributing programs, ushering guests, lining up students, etc. Faculty who process can also assist as a volunteer and will be assigned duties that will allow them to be on time for line up.

Questions regarding volunteering at Commencement can be directed to Nicole Zeledon at x3066. A meeting will be held in May to review procedures and tasks.

Regalia

Faculty participants are expected to wear appropriate academic regalia. Academic regalia may be purchased or rented through The College Store. For pricing information, please contact Wannita Richards at richarwm@potsdam.edu or (315) 267-3274 as soon as possible.

Commencement Ceremony - Saturday, May 18, 2024

7 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. 
Commencement Breakfast Buffet, $12.99, Thatcher Hall
Scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, bacon, French toast, fresh fruit salad, coffee and juice.

8 a.m.
Volunteer check-in begins

Procession begins to move toward the ceremony site

Commencement Ceremony begins
