The Research Foundation for SUNY (State University of New York), a private, not for profit organization, invites applications for an Education Specialist for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). This position is grant-funded through the US Department of Education. TRIO provides support to first-generation, low-income, and disabled undergraduate students.
Some responsibilities include: Administer TRIO SSS Tutoring program; Assess academic needs of participants by monitoring academic progress and administering intervention services; provide academic, financial, and personal advising, as well as career and graduate school planning; coordinate and participate in program activities which include evenings, weekends, and travel; collect and analyze data to ensure compliance with federal regulations for program objectives.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, education and at least one year in experience in teaching/counseling OR equivalent combination of education and experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills; understanding and appreciation for inclusion and ability to work with diverse populations and identities.
