This new program provides students with the chance to become acclimated to campus before the beginning of the fall semester!
Ignite students will move into their residence halls a day early, explore specific campus resources and discuss the nuanced differences between high school and college by interacting with staff and current OAS students.
At a Glance
Wednesday, August 20: Noon-7:30 p.m. (Mandatory)
- Move into your dorm rooms in the afternoon
- Dinner with OAS staff, transition leaders, you and up to 3 guests
- Find your classroom and learn how to navigate public transportation, lead by OAS transition leaders – for students only
Thursday, August 21: 8:30 a.m. - Noon (Mandatory - for students only)
- Discuss the differences between high school and college
- Learn about campus supports
- "Accommodate" - What is it?
- Role play by OAS staff and transition leaders - how to speak with your professors
- Break-out groups
- OAS tour (exam center, campus sensory spaces and study areas)
