Academic Advising
Eligibility: Any employee who performs duties as an academic advisor with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Criteria:
- Availability to students beyond regular office hours, initiative in reaching out to advisees
- Knowledge of resources and services that may provide a student additional help
- Ability to show advisees all available academic and career options
Clerical Service
Eligibility: All clerical staffing including State, Research Foundation, PACES, and Childcare Center with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Criteria:
- Exceptional service to students, the public, or members of the College community
- Commitment to continued growth and a willingness to undertake new challenges
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation which has resulted in improved services or significant savings to the College
College Service
Eligibility: All employees including State, Research Foundation, PACES, and Childcare Center with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Criteria:
- Significant contributions to campus activities such as committees, governance, student services, mentoring, performances, and exhibits
- Demonstrated service outside of one’s job duties that positively impacts the College
- Adaptability and a willingness to undertake new challenges
Community Service and Outreach
Eligibility: All employees including State, Research Foundation, PACES, and Childcare Center with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Criteria:
- Meaningful participation in community service activities
- Work outside of campus that aligns with and demonstrates the College’s core values
- Significant contributions to the community
Operational Service
Eligibility: All CSEA and PEF Physical Plant Employees with at least one year of service
Note: In lieu of a nomination letter, the nominator will complete a recommendation form
Criteria:
- Exceptional service to students, the public, or members of the College community
- Commitment to continued growth and development
- Adaptability and a willingness to undertake new challenges
Auxiliary and College Educational Service
Eligibility: All PACES Employees with at least one year of service
Note: In lieu of a nomination letter, the nominator will complete a recommendation form
Criteria:
- Exceptional service to students, the public, or members of the College community
- Commitment to continued growth and development
- Adaptability and a willingness to undertake new challenges
Professional Service
Eligibility: All Professional (SL) employees with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume and Performance Program
Criteria:
- Outstanding performance of one's duties
- Demonstrated decisiveness, creativity, innovation and contemporary understanding of one's field
- Significant and successful contributions to the College
Professional Administrative Service
Eligibility: Management Confidential, University Police, Assistant Coaches, Clinical Faculty, Research Foundation and Childcare Center professional employees with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Criteria:
- Outstanding performance of one's duties
- Demonstrated decisiveness, creativity, innovation and contemporary understanding of one's field
- Significant and successful contributions to the College
Scholarship and Creative Activities
Eligibility: All faculty with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Criteria:
- Investigation or creation, which has enlarged the store of human knowledge, or has expanded the potential of human creativity
- Significant and positive impact on the students of the College
- A record of excellence in creative activity appropriate for the specific field of discipline, such as exhibitions, performances, or critical reviews and grants
Teaching
Eligibility: All teaching faculty including Librarians and Head Coaches (Lecturers) with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume and student evaluations of 2 sections from the prior 2 semesters (Librarians are excluded from submitting student evaluations)
Note: One recommendation must be from a current student
Criteria:
- Demonstrated excellence in techniques of instruction, availability and help to students
- Growth in one's field of instruction, concern for intellectual growth of students
- Adherence to high standards, positive attitude towards the profession
Adjunct Teaching
Eligibility: All adjunct faculty with at least two semesters of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume and student evaluations of at least two sections from the prior two semesters
Note: One recommendation must be from a current student
Criteria:
- Demonstrated excellence in techniques of instruction, availability and help to students
- Growth in one's field of instruction, concern for intellectual growth of students
- Adherence to high standards, positive attitude towards the profession
Fostering a Welcoming and Inclusive Classroom Environment
Eligibility: All teaching faculty with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Note: One recommendation must be from a current student
Criteria:
- Course curriculum integrates topics around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)
- Exceptional communication and response to student, staff, and faculty needs or inquiries around the topics of DEI
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
Fostering a Welcoming and Inclusive Campus Climate
Eligibility: All employees including State, Research Foundation, PACES and Childcare Center with at least one year of service
Requirements: Nominee must submit a current resume
Note: One recommendation must be from a current student
Criteria:
- Demonstrated proactive engagement with the community on topics of DEI
- Collaboration with various constituencies on campus with respect to DEI
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive campus climate
