Instructor Guide to Anthology Portfolio and Brightspace

The School of Education began using Anthology Portfolio, formerly known as Chalk and Wire, as its assessment software in August 2024. Anthology Portfolio replaced the use of Taskstream. There is no fee for instructors to use Anthology Portfolio.

Anthology FAQs for Instructors

Instructors will use Anthology Portfolio if any of the following* occurs:

  • The course includes a teacher education program key assessment assignment
  • The course includes a teacher education field-based experience

*Anthology Portfolio is piloting with two courses in fall 2024. In spring 2025 pre-student teaching field-based courses and advanced studies practica/internship courses will be added in addition to adding more courses with key assessments. In fall 2025, student teaching courses will be piloted.

  • Access your Anthology Portfolio account directly through your Brightspace course. You should not go directly through the Anthology Portfolio website.
  • Sign into Brightspace
  • Go to your course that has an embedded Anthology Portfolio assignment
  • Click the assignment link and Anthology Portfolio will open
  • If prompted, login to Anthology Portfolio using SUNY Potsdam ID and password
  • Email edassess@potsdam.edu with questions related to the software
