SUNY Potsdam History Faculty & Alumni Present at Egypt Research Conference
A faculty member and two alumni from SUNY Potsdam’s Department of History recently met and presented research at the 2024 American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) meeting, held in Pittsburgh. Associate Professor Dr. Steven Stannish and alumna Dr. Alexandra Morris ’12 took part in a well-attended panel discussion, “The Undiscovered Country: Disability in Ancient Egypt,” based on a forthcoming collection of essays they have both contributed to.
Community Performance Series Presents 2024 Summer Musical Production of ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’
Community Performance Series will present a production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” this summer at SUNY Potsdam. The production will run from Wednesday, July 10, through Sunday, July 14, with five showtimes.
SUNY Potsdam to Host Free NYS Citizen Preparedness Corps Training
With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. SUNY Potsdam will host a New York Citizen Preparedness Corps training on Thursday, June 27 at noon in Kellas Hall Room 106. The event is sponsored by the Governor’s Office, with support from SUNY Potsdam’s Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Emergency Management.

The SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association recently honored Carol Dumka ’74 of Liverpool, N.Y., with the Donald L. Tompkins Distinguished Service Award during Reunion 2024. The Donald L. Tompkins Distinguished Service Award is presented to alumni who have made exceptional contributions to the Alumni Association and/or the College. It was renamed in 2022 in honor of former Alumni Board Trustee Donald Tompkins ’68.

Logan was honored for her exceptional service to the Alumni Association and to the College.
