In an effort to insure an atmosphere conducive to academic pursuits and to comply with existing state and local laws, the following animal policy shall be in effect: Service animals, as provided for under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and comfort, emotional support and companionship animals, as provided for under the Fair Housing Act in the Residence Halls only, are excluded from the provision of this policy. In an effort to make writing for external audiences less complicated, while promoting one consistent professional style for the College, we have developed the SUNY Potsdam Editorial Style Guide. Many of the entries in this guide follow the latest edition of the Associated Press Stylebook, which is the industry standard for most journalists. Electronic Submissions for Human Subjects Research Workshop. The IRB is now using an online system to submit and track all human subjects related research. This hands-on workshop will teach you how to sign-on to the new system, upload your protocol, and track the process of your submission. To get the most out of this workshop, participants should have on hand a completed electronic copy of their human subjects protocol (& appendices). A laptop computer recommended. Electronic signatures are a great way for the College to relay a consistent image. While there are no official guidelines for signatures, it is suggested that you do not use an attached image as a signature, since email systems and users may inadvertently read those messages as spam. In addition, it is recommended that you use our abbreviated name, SUNY Potsdam, as well as provide a link back to www.potsdam.edu. Other pertinent information to include on your email signature includes your full name, College address, phone number with area code and email address.
