Aliaksandra Reutovich ’22 of Brooklyn, N.Y., has become the first SUNY Potsdam student to be named a Goldwater Scholar, receiving the most prestigious undergraduate scholarship in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering in America. SUNY Potsdam Scientists Publish Article on Purple Loosestrife in Nature Journal, Scientific Reports
SUNY Potsdam scientists have published an article on their invasive plant research in Scientific Reports on Nature.com, the sixth most-cited journal in the world. Dr. Jessica Rogers, Dr. Kamal Humagain and Dr. Adam Pearson authored the article, “Mapping the Purple Menace: Spatiotemporal Distribution of Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum Salicaria) Along Roadsides in Northern New York State.”

Crane School of Music Hosts Maestro Kent Tritle for Closing Concert of the LoKo Arts Festival
SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will welcome a distinguished visiting conductor and present a special concert to close the 2019 LoKo Arts Festival. Maestro Kent Tritle is set to conduct the Crane Chorus and the Crane Symphony Orchestra in a performance of “Apparebit Repentina Dies” by Paul Hindemith and the “Mass in C-minor” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, on Saturday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m., in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall.
