Mascot History
Prior to 1961, athletic teams referred to themselves as "The Racquetteers."
Work Order System
The SUNY Potsdam Physical Plant Office has implemented a work order system which has automated and streamlined the processes for requesting work to be completed by Physical Plant staff members. The system enables a user to submit a work order and track the progress as it goes through the system. In most cases a work order is needed in order for work to be completed, unless it is an emergency or life safety situation. Work orders are handled on a priority basis, not first come.
Office of Institutional Effectiveness
The SUNY Potsdam Office of Institutional Effectiveness facilitates data collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional research to support planning, decision-making, assessment, and student success across the College in an objective manner that conveys results accurately to appropriate administrative, academic, and external constituencies.
Evacuation Plans
The SUNY Potsdam Emergency Evacuation Plan has been designed to inform building occupants, tenants and users of the emergency procedures that may save lives in a crisis situation. College buildings are equipped with modern life-safety systems, however, that does not necessary eliminate the possibility of a fire occurring.
Cynthia DuFault
SUNY Potsdam Assistant Professor Cynthia DuFault’s true love is dance. She has been on the move for most of her career as a dance instructor, working in seven different states as well as Guanajuato, Mexico. She has been trained in everything from modern dance to ballet and has built her life around the pedagogy of dance—bringing extensive knowledge to her students since joining the College two years ago.
Health & Wellness
SUNY Potsdam students are challenged to integrate all facets of themselves as they pursue their academic interests. The College is commited to developing a culture of self reflection, personal responsibility for physical health, comprehensive fitness opportunities and psychological and emotional balance. The health and happiness of each student are of paramount importance in the SUNY Potsdam educational experience.
